A new online shopping site will launch in South Africa to compete with Takealot. Everyshop, backed by the JD Group which owns the likes of Incredible Connection, does not have a confirmed launch date. However, Business Insider reports Everyshop will have a strong technology focus. I.e. expect gaming and PC items a plenty.
Eight content creators have been named as members of the recently launched Logitech G Content Creator Academy. The 8 creators, ranging from photographers to high level chess players who stream their games, were announced late last week by the peripheral brand. The eLaLiga Santander Fan Cup will include South Africa in the competition. The international FIFA21 tournament is organised by LaLiga and Electronic Arts. 16 countries will compete in 31 online tournaments with 4 regional finals and 1 grand final. South African players will compete in the “rest of the world” group that includes Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt. The group stages take place on the 20th and 21st of February 2021.
White Rabbit Gaming’s Valorant Team won the rAge Valorant Cup. The tournament, hosted by Mettlestate, formed part of the rAge Expo 2020, with the main event happening online this weekend.
Omnius Gaming’s all female CSGO team has qualified for the Top 16 of the ESEA Season 35 Open Playoffs. The tournament, hosted by Gamedock, allows South African CSGO players to compete in the internationally acclaimed ESEA series. Omnius Gaming will also compete in the Grand Finals of the Female teams only cup, which will be held later this week.
Local South African esports teams will play off the naming of their various corporate sponsors to collaborate during the rAge Expo 2020. On Saturday 7 November, Bravado Gaming, sponsored by Alienware, alongside Goliath Gaming, sponsored by Acer Predator, will present the #AlienVsPredatorZA show matches. Various players and streamers from the organisations will take part in various CSGO games.
Reebok has announced that their collaboration collection with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available in South Africa. Popular gaming influencers including Super2bit and Grant Hinds have already shared images of them with the product, which will be made available on 7 November. The game launches locally on 10 November.
