Black Lives Matter. With the ongoing protests around the world, many developers have delayed press conferences and game releases to ensure this remains “a time to listen”. Sony delayed their 5 June Playstation 5 reveal, Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 4 has been delayed and CD Projekt Red delayed their Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay reveal, amongst others. South African Gamers are getting their own Playstation Days of Play specials. Glitched reports that Sony has offered up games, consoles and accessories at discounted prices locally, as part of their annual sale. 

Esports organisation Bravado Gaming has announced a new team signing, and they aren’t competitive gamers (sort of). The organisation has signed 3 local and 1 UK based streamer as part of their “stream team”. Twitch Partner and celebrated international Gwent Player MissLadyJay is part of the line up. Bravado made the announcement on twitter earlier this week.

Fortnite players between the ages of 7 and 13 can compete in the Fortnite Minor League this weekend hosted by Mettlestate and Parents of Kid Gamers. The child-friendly tournament aims at providing an esports space fit for the next generation of competitors. Parents can sign their children up on the Mettlestate site

ATK Arena’s Apex Legends team has cracked the top 10 of the Global Series. We’ve reported on the roster’s success in the past in these tournaments. The roster have earned themselves enough points to sit in 9th place globally.

Acer/Predator Gaming have announced their partnership with Goliath Gaming. As part of this new partnership, GG players will go live on the Predator Instagram account from next week to share insights into their respective titles and what it takes to be some of the best. A CSGO tournament for all local teams is also in the works.

Racing Club International has been founded in the wake of RedLine Motorsport closing their doors with very short notice. The majority of the RLM team, including local commentator George “GeeMax” Smith, have shifted their focus to this new venture to allow sim racers to continue racing in leagues they’ve become familiar with. Their first race is scheduled for 8 June 2020. Local drivers can find out more here.
