Comic Con Cape Town is cancelled. RUSH Esports at Rand Show has been postponed. UCON 2020 postponed. Nintendo’s Summer Smash Cup is cancelled. Predator Gaming Apex Cup is postponed.

Sinister 5 FIFA player, Daniel “Dox” Osemeudiame, will attempt to break the world record for the “Longest videogame marathon on a football (soccer) game” in April. The current record to beat is 48 hours, 49 minutes and 41 seconds. 

A host of gaming sales are on the go at the moment. To help you cope with social distancing and isolation, Glitched has shared a gaming hardware sale you can take advantage of (the Nintendo Switch is less than R4000 on this list). XBOX is offering up to 85% off on selected Square Enix titles. The best time killer of them all, The Sims 4 is less than R200 on Origin.

Racing drivers, sim racers and various sim racing YouTubers will be coming together in-game this weekend to compete on the Kyalami circuit. There are some South Africans in the mix so tune in to show your support during your social distancing.

Goliath Gaming’s FIFA team was not able to compete in Dubai. Goliath Gaming sent their 3 man FIFA Squad to Dubai last week to compete in the eChampions League Qualifiers. Unfortunately, the night before the event EA announced they were suspending the competition. The team were forced to return home.

Local Call of Duty Organisation, Phoenix Gaming have offered to pay the tournament entrance fees for 7 rosters wishing to participate in an upcoming online event. The SACOD Battles tournament takes place this weekend (20-21 March).
